2 weeks
I can't believe our precious little baby boy is already 2 weeks old today! Mom and Dad left on Saturday and we miss them terribly! But we are glad they could come down and meet Jack and spend time with us and are excited for their next visit. Sunday we took Jack to church, he slept the whole time. He made a couple of cute little baby noises but was asleep nontheless. Monday was Bryce's birthday and we celebrated with enchiladas and rice krispie treats. Tuesday Jack had his first appointment with the pediatritian here in town where he got a good report! He now weighs 8 lb 9 oz. The doctor also said that I can wait 5 hours at night to feed him. So we have been doing that the past two nights and it has worked out great, he has been sleeping until I wake him up to feed. He will go back for his 2 month check up on April 15th. Yesterday was Bryce's last day off of work for paternity leave :( Jack and I were sad to see him go back today, plus he has to go out of town this afternoon and won't be back until late tomorrow night. I am not sure the puppies know what to think of Jack. Dakota has been protective of him and likes to guard Jack's belongings. Once he got ahold of his pacifier and barked at the other dogs when they got too close and he has done the same with a blanket of Jack's as well. Pudgy likes to sniff him and Nala is curious but then wants attention for herself!

Our first week with Jack
Baby Jack is now 9 days old! Hard to believe that he is over a week old. He has had a pretty big week! Monday was his first trip out besides coming home from the hospital. We ran a few errands and he was great, he slept in his carrier the whole time. Monday was also his first bath at home. So far he has not been a fan of them. Hopefully that gets better soon! Tuesday we took him back to the hospital for an appointment with the nurse. He passed his hearing test that he failed in one ear at the hospital and got a good report from the nurse. He weighed 8 lb 5 oz so he is gaining back the weight he lost in the hospital. After the hopsital we went to Mellow Mushroom for lunch with one of Bryce's fraternity brothers. Wednesday Jack made his debut at small group and we are excited for him to have so many other baby friends :) Yesterday Mom and I took him to lunch and on a few errands and last night he got to meet the softball girls. He has been sleeping very well at night. The past two nights he has been sleeping through the night, only waking when I wake him up for feedings then going right back to sleep. I am counting my blessing because I know this may not last! We are enjoying every moment we have with him! Tuesday he has his first appointment with the pediatritian so we will see how much he weighs and get an update on his health :) New pictures are at the top, but the older pictures are at the bottom of the blog page!

Jack Andrew Duvall Ciancio
We are so excited that baby Jack is finally here. It seemed like such a long time coming but now it is flying by! I guess I will start with the events on Wednesday. Wednesday after school, I was concerned over some things going on so I called the doctor and they told me to come into the office. When we saw the doctor he did an exam and said that my water had broke so we needed to go the hospital. I was admitted at about 5:20 pm. After I got there and got settled into the delivery room the doctor did an exam and said that I was 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. They started me on a pitocin drip to help start contractions within a few hours I was at 4 cm dilated, then before I knew it I was 9cm and 90% effaced. Within a short period of time, I was pushing and baby Jack was here at 12:24 am after 7 hours of labor. Harold and Lise were there during labor and Mom and Dad got here Friday around noon. They were excited to leave the snow behind in Maryland but unfortunately the snow followed them here. Friday it snowed here there were a couple of inches on the ground, but after what they just went through, that amount was pretty much laughable.
Everyone who has seen Jack thinks he is absolutely beautiful and we would have to agree! He has the cutest dimples, which he gets from his great-grandmother Rhinehart. He also had a head full of hair, which we weren't too surprised at because Bryce and I both had a lot of hair at birth too. He has blue eyes and long fingers and toes like his mommy. He is a pretty typical baby-sleeps, eats and poops a lot :) He has been such a blessing and joy to us and our families and we thank God for the gift that he has given to us everyday! I made an album on photobucket that I have added the link on here so everyone can see pictures.
Finally, thank you to everyone for the texts, facebook messages, gifts, and visits, we appreciate it all!

Baby Jack is here.
Jack was born on 2/11/10 at 12:24 am. Kristin was only in labor for 7 hours. She was a trooper and did not have an epidural. She went pretty quickly and Jack came out much larger than anticipated. He was 8 lbs and 8.6 oz. he was a staggering 21.5 inches long and had a head circumference of 13.5 inches. He has big feet and really long fingers and toes. He has many visitors. Pastor Douglas and Zach Smith (the youth director at the church) came by and said a prayer for Jack, Kristin, and I. It was great to see them and have them come and share the experience. We have had a bunch of small group members and school friends come by and see him.
He is making funny noises as I type this and has been wide eyed and bushy tale from the minute they handed him to me. He has been looking around and trying to take in all the sights of the big, new world. I will get going but wanted to update. Kristin will post soon with a bunch more details.

Baby C update!
Yesterday was my weekly doctor's appointment. No new progress, holding steady at 1.5 cm and 70%. I go back on Thursday of next week (February 11th) for an ultrasound and nonstress test if the baby hasn't come yet. If anything doesn't look right on the ultrasound (like low fluid) or the baby is in stress during the stress test they will send me to the hospital then to be induced, otherwise if everything still looks ok, I will go back early in the following week and pick a day to be induced if the baby still hasn't come yet. Please pray that Baby C will come on its own! We know at this point the baby still isn't late, but we are hoping to go through this without having to be induced. We will update as soon as something happens, either baby or news from our doctor's appointment.
