For months after he was born this picture sums up bath time with Jack:
He hated baths to say the least and it did not make us want to give them to him either. But now he loves them!
Now he loves playing in his bath, look at that splash zone! Here he is "bobbing" for his duck!
He needed a bath because I let him play with his dinner.
He likes to try and use the spoon himself and does not like to give it back!

6 months
Today Jack turns 6 months old! Hard to believe he is half a year old!
February 11, 2010 @ 12:24 am cst Jack Andrew Duvall Ciancio made his entrance into the world :) 8.5 pounds and the cutest dimples you have ever seen, oh what joy he has brought us! Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
At one month Jack had begun to coo and smile :)
During month 2 Jack learned to roll from belly to back! Look at that neck strength!
For mother's day (3 months) Jack gave me rolling over from his back to his belly, which he still likes to do non stop, it makes it very difficult to change his diaper while he is trying to roll over!
At 4 months Jack was baptized and ate solid food!
At 5 months he took his first trip to the beach. He liked the pool much better than the beach. He was spoiled rotten by everyone there!
And today we celebrate 6 months! Big boy is sitting up so well, eats 3 solid meals a day, is the sweetest boy at daycare (so they tell us), wants to drink from a cup, is so close to crawling and sleeps through the night! We are so thankful for the amazing blessing that Jack has been in our lives!

Back to School
Where to start?! Well for starters, July 22 Bryce and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary, my how time flies! I can't believe that summer is over (although no one has told the Alabama weather that summer is over, it has been in the 90's with heat index over 100 for a couple weeks now)! Teachers started back to work this past Tuesday and Monday is our first day with students. So much to do to get ready and so little time!
Jack started daycare on Monday :( On the bright side his teachers love him and think he is so sweet! He is also more advanced than the other babies in his class so he is moving up a class starting on Monday, such a big boy! He hasn't crawled yet but he is now moving on from trying to crawl for the most part. Now he will push himself up on his hands and feet with his butt in the air! From here I think he might try and pull himself up and hold on to furniture. From that position he has already learned how to sit up all by himself! He is growing up so fast! He now eats 3 meals a day. His favorite food is oatmeal. Right now his repertoire includes oatmeal, rice cereal, applesauce, bananas, pears, peas, cauliflower, butternut squash and sweet potatoes. He wasn't a big fan of sweet potatoes but we are going to try them again. He also won't eat the applesauce unless it was mixed with oatmeal. Next we are probably going to try green beans or peaches. That is about all I can think of for now, no pictures our camera died and I can't locate the battery charger for the time being :)

Home Sweet Home!
Jack and mommy are finally home, it seems like we have been away almost all summer! We just got home yesterday from Maryland for an end of the summer trip to see my family. We had a great time staying with Gammy and PopPop. While we were there we had shrimp salad from 700 South, crabcakes from G&M, a cookout with the family (that included my favorite summer dessert-peach kuchen), cream of crab soup, Rita's, and a crab feast!
Every morning Gammy and JJ would play before Gammy had to go to work. It was nice to be able to sleep in :) Gammy also bought Jack a baby pool to play in, he seemed to really enjoy it!
Jack is getting so big, he is almost sitting up and crawling! He has been on his knees and up on his hands and rocking back and forth, but can't figure out the rest just yet, I am sure it will just be a few more days before he figures it out, he can crawl backwards, just not forward yet!
We love our MomMom, can't wait to see you again!

Roller Derby
Besides eating, Jack's favorite activity is rolling! He loves to roll back to belly, belly to back and does it over and over and over again. Since he can't crawl it is how he gets around, we will put him down on his play mat and within 5 minutes or less he has rolled off the mat. He is happy as a clam laying on the mat with his toys and just rolling around. He loves his taggie blankets and anything that crinkles. On vacation he even rolled himself up like a taco in the play mat, such a silly boy! We are trying to work on sitting up but it is hard when he would rather work on standing up instead! He is trying to skip some steps ;) Jack also tried cauliflower this week and has loved it, it has been going much better than the sweet potatoes we tired on vacation. Jack and I are headed up to Maryland tonight, we are really excited to see the family, especially Mom-Mom Rhinehart, but are sad that daddy can't come with us :(
Probably within the last month Jack has discovered his toes and loves to grab them, here are a couple pictures of him grabbing his toes! (A big thanks to Miss Maggie Pyles for letting us borrow her Bumbo!)

Beach Trip
Last Wednesday we packed up and headed up the the beach :) It was a great trip! After football practice on we loaded up the car and headed up to SC to meet my family in Myrtle Beach. JJ did great on the car ride and we took a route that prevented us from going thourgh Florence, SC, so I was happy (if you have ever been to or driven through Florence, you know what I mean!). We arrive in Myrtle Beach around 8:30 in the evening and had fajitas with the family. Thursday was kind of a dreary day, but it brighten up by the afternoon and we took JJ to the pool. It was a little shakey experience, but later in the week he enjoyed it more and more. He however was not a big fan of the beach. Did not like sand, did not like the ocean, did not like to lay on the blanket on the beach. It was great to spend time with the family and it was great to be lazy for a little while :) 4th of July we had a cookout with our family and went to the beach to watch fireworks. I love 4th of July at Myrtle Beach, so many fireworks right over your head.
While we were at the beach we made JJ a teddy bear at Build a Bear. Bryce and I were actually able to go on a date, thanks to Aunt Kelly and Giant Uncle Jeffy. They watched JJ while we went to the Brazilian steakhouse. We both really enjoyed the Brazilian steakhouse, if you have never been to one, I would recommending trying it out! I found out that I really like lamb chops! Tuesday Mom, Kelly and I all got facials, it was so nice and relaxing :)
