Wow have we been busy! This is going to be a pathetic little update and I don't even have any pictures (it gets hard to capture an ever moving target!). School has been in session for over a month now and we have been super busy. Between teaching, less planning time, football and softball we have been tied up! Jack seems to have settled into his routine with school. He likes his new teachers and his "girlfriend" Pia (Sophia) is in his class too.
Back in August Jack had his 18 month check up and it went really well. He is in the 50th percentile for weight and 75th for length. He got his last 2 shots until he turns 4. They also said he is very well developed speech for someone his age. Having tubes put in his ears has been a world of difference in his speech. Before the tubes he hardly said anything, now he talks up a storm. Some of my favorite words of his are Mommy, belbow (elbow), button, pete-za (pizza) and puppy. He can also say Pudge and Nala and he calls Dakota "Co-co."
Last week my parents came to visit. They let Jack cut school and he stayed home with them :) They had a great time with him. While they were here, we got Jack a potty. He has shown some interest in learning so we are taking it slow. Right now I think he just likes to flush his potty :)
Well I am off to clean up after hurricane Jack then heading to bed! Hopefully I can get some pictures of the little bugger to add in next time!

School!
Last Monday Jack started back at daycare, but yesterday he moved up to the toddler class! Our baby isn't a baby anymore :( He is a big boy who is sleeping in a cot and eating his meals at a little table :) I am so proud of him he has had 2 great reports so far this week. Here is a picture of him on his way to school Monday.
He has recently been digging up his bibs and asking us to put them on him. He hated bibs when I really wanted him to wear one, go figure! The best part of my day has been when I go to pick him up. His eyes light up and he yells "Mama!" and runs to me :)

Cooling Off!
Just as usual it has been a hot and humid summer here in Alabama. Since Jack now finally likes the water again we decided to fill up his pool yesterday so he could play in the water. He had a blast! He loved playing with the hose while it was filling up the pool. Yesterday was also our 5 year anniversary and we couldn't ask for a better way to spend our day than with our sweet little boy. Here are a few pictures from the pool!
Hey, where's the water?!
For some reason in this picture he is yelling dog, maybe he thought they needed a drink
Look at me :)

Playing Catch
Here is a little video of me playing catch with Jack, it take a couple tries for him to catch it, but it was hard to throw well to him while recording the video too, the audio is really loud, sorry :)

A few videos :)
Here are a few videos of Jack, one is of him dancing at the beach, one is him saying some words I ask him to say and the other two are of him eating chicken today. Notice when he says chicken his mouth does not open. Also notice in the one chicken video he makes "mmmmmmmmm" noise that he makes when eating chicken :)

Beach!
We had a fabulous 2 weeks at Myrtle Beach with my family! Jack absolutely loved the beach! He loved the sand and playing in it. At first he wasn't sure about getting the sand on his hands, but he quickly got over that. Over the 2 weeks we relaxed and had lots of fun. We had several cookouts with the family, went shopping, Bryce played golf, I had a facial, and everyone loved on Jack! We also had a chance to catch up with several friends, it was great to see them!
While at the beach Jack learned a few new things. He learned the number 2 we are still working on 1 and 3, he also learn to pull his foot to his nose and say "pee eeww" which is pretty funny. We also learned that he loves hot dogs and fig newtons. While at the beach we worked really hard on using please (which is more like "peas"), but he is getting the hang of it. We are still working on "thank you" as well. He also learned how to walk backwards and in a circle. He also had a blast dancing to the music on his fridge farm. He also learned how to impersonate a monkey :)

Summer Time!
Another school year has come to a close and we have been spending our days with our little stinkweed. After school got out Jack and I flew up to Maryland for a week. Everyone enjoyed spending time with Jack and he was spoiled with love and attention :) While we were there we went to the Maryland Zoo, Jack got to see all kinds of "doooogs" (any animal to him is a "doooog"). He enjoyed waking up and playing with "Maeme" each morning (Maeme is how he says Gammy). Two mornings Jack woke up with no diaper on, the second morning I realized this when I heard him peeing on the floor through the netting of the pack and play. Saturday night while we were in Maryland there was a surprise party for my Uncle Steve. Jack had lots of fun, he got to play with a few kids his size and all the adults loved seeing him as well. He did get a little jealous when he saw me holding baby Lyla (my cousin Andrea's little girl, she is about 2 months old). We went for a wagon ride around Maeme and Pop Pop's neighborhood, Jack really enjoyed the wagon. On Monday we tried a little pool party for Jack, he was a little unsure of it. He would be find one minute then cry the next and nothing had changed.
Since we have been home we have been spending lots of time together working on manners and parts of the body. Jack can say please and thank you :) We are also working on saying no thank you, which he has said a couple times but not regularly. He is coming around on please, for about a week he would cry every time we asked him to say please. As for the parts of his body he can point out and say the following: nose, eye, ear, tooth, head, belly, and toes. We are working on knee. Just about every morning our day starts out with eating "boo boos" which you probably know better as blueberries. Jack loves them. I think they have replaced bananas as his new food obsession. Here are a few pictures of our stinkweed :)
