Family of Four!

Being a family of four has been such a blessing!  Kaylea has brought so much joy to our lives already :)  Jack loves his baby sister, it is amazing how well he has taken to her.  He always asks us "Where's Kaylea?"  He also wants to help change her diaper and make sure she is covered up with her blanket or even make sure she has her paci.  The other day we asked him if he wanted to hold Kaylea and his eyes lit up and he said yes :)  We told him he had to sit on the couch and he sat right down and stuck his arms out so he could hold her.  

Our two babies amaze us everyday.  Even though we have already had a baby, it is unbelievable how much you forget from one baby to the next.  You forget how small they really are as newborns (although, Jack was never as little as his sister), you forget how often they eat, how much they sleep, and just how much it changes your life.  What I love most is how much you love them the instant you meet them!

Last week my parents came to visit.  It was a wonderful visit and we were sad to see them leave.  Jack has been asking us the past 2 days where mimi and pop-pop are.  While they were here they finished Jack's big boy room, it looks so good, thanks for all your help!  We also got a video monitor recently and set it up the other day in Jack's room.  Now we can see when he is getting out of bed and playing in the dresser or closest instead of sleeping!  

I think Jack is ready to tackle potty training head on.  I have read several methods and I think I am going to combine 2 and hopefully he will be done in a few days.  It is ridiculous changing Kaylea's tiny newborn diaper then changing a 2 year old who wears a size 6 diaper.  We have been using the potty with Jack the past few days, he also uses it regularly at school.  He likes to sit on the potty with a drink and read books.  So the plan is to stay home with him for 3 days and only wear underwear and eat salty snacks and drink a lot for those 3 days.  Hoping this will put him over the edge to completely grasp using the potty.
